Earth Day? How About People Day? Writer #1, 2010-03-27 Earth day… great. Are you really going to turn off your lights for Earth day? Is this how well trained slaves should act? As for me and my house, we will turn lights on… when we need them… like we always do. Paper or Plastic? 20 years ago paper bags were the devil. Remember how much friendlier plastic bags were? They use less space in landfills and trees don\’t have to die. How special. Now I go to Whole Foods and plastic isn\’t even an option. It\’s paper or bring your own. And if you bring your own then you get a wooden nickel (yes, from a tree) to put into the box near the door that supports a charity. That\’s nice, I think. But it\’s a great illustration of how the good of today is the evil tomorrow. There\’s nothing inherently good or bad about plastic or paper bags. They just are. The amount of arrogance required to think we could actually understand the entire ecosystem from our blip of exploration on the overall time line of the planet, is laughable. We cannot figure it out. We cannot figure out how to ruin the entire system nor could be figure out how to save the entire system. The single culprit, carbon, being the evil killer is nothing more than a bill of goods that someone is wanting you to believe so that they can scare you into paying money for this so-called “problem”. See: Carbon Offset. When will everyone realize that we can impact almost nothing on this Earth? Even our nastiest landfills are merely abrasions on the outermost surface of this planet. Killing trees is so insignificant when taking into account the tiny percentage of trees that get cut down, plus the rate at which they can grow back. Furthermore, the carbon dioxide we exhale is food for plants and furthers life. The other carbon in the environment is essential to all life. Who Serves Whom? The biggest problem is that the Bible teaches that man should have dominion over the Earth and subdue it. False religions teach that the Earth is their “mother” and that the Earth should have dominion over man. Does this remind you of Romans 1:25: for that they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. In this battle, I\’m going to side with the God of the Bible. People Day This entire green movement is diverting us from the more logical agenda that is needed. Not a save the Earth agenda, but a SAVE THE PEOPLE agenda! Forget Earth day, we need a People Day! I mean, the Earth is nice and all, but there seems to be this religion that worships Earth and calls people a disease. Remember this video? So we\’re all parasites on a loving planet and ruining everything. I mean, did God really create anything that fits that description? Did you ever notice that organic foods are often sold as Earth kind, Earth friendly, animal friendly, forest friendly, or something like that? There is now the Green Party, a Green Channel, and a Go Green Initiative. It\’s all about serving the planet and being kind to mother Earth. And it\’s a huge market now. It\’s everywhere. I\’m getting annoyed with all this hype aimed at saving the Earth or being nice to the Earth while foods are served with poisons. [Pesticide Fact Sheet] Why are we concerned with treading lightly and saving (renewable) electricity when people are eating genetically modified foods that are negatively altering their DNA? Why are we concerned about saving water rather than getting the chlorine and mind-altering fluoride out of the water? I\’d like to see a \’save the human\’ campaign. The Earth is great and all, but we can\’t kill it. It can, however, kill us. If we don\’t use Earth-derived chemicals properly, then we will become sicker and sicker. It seems feasible that we could save the Earth and end up killing ourselves off. Alternatively, it seems impossible to save ourselves and kill the Earth off. I\’d like to concentrate on giving my body safe food and water, even though it costs more. And I sure don\’t want to give my money away to government or businesses to “offset” carbon, which is a life-driving force, when I could spend that money on nutrients and healthier foods for my family and self. If it\’s true that we are one with the Earth then taking better care of myself, by eating only organic foods and clean water, should be benefiting the planet. And in fact, that is what happens. When we stop spraying chemicals on our foods, altering the genes of our foods, and adding deadly toxins in minute amounts to our foods, we will become healthier. In turn, the planet will become healthier as well because we are one. Uncategorized
