Father Forgive Them, But Not Them… Writer #1, 2020-02-16 They rejected Jesus and killed Him. While they were killing Him, He said “Father forgive them. They know not what they do.” It is commonly said that people only go to hell for rejecting Jesus. And yet, it sounds to me like Jesus handles rejection pretty well. He is not out to damage us or even make us pay for rejecting Him. He wants forgiveness for all. God is not willing that any should perish but that all come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9) All things are possible. (Matthew 19:26) The Father gave Jesus all things. (John 3:35) All that the Father has given Jesus will come to Him. (John 6:39) Through one righteous act there is justification for all. (Romans 5:18) Jesus will draw all people to Himself. (John 12:32) Those who were made sinners will all be made righteous. (Rom 5:19) He will have mercy on all. (Rom 11:32) All will be made alive. (1 Cor 15:22) He reconciled all things to Himself. (Col 1:20) He is the atoning sacrifice for the sins of THE WHOLE WORLD. (1 John 2:2) Jesus is the world’s savior. (1 John 4:14, John 4:42) The Father sent the Son to seek and save the lost. (Luke 19:10) Jesus does exactly what the Father commands Him to do. (John 14:31) The Father’s will is that Jesus lose nothing but raise it up on the last day. (John 6:39) Every knee will bow. (Romans 14:11, Isaiah 45:23, Philippians 2:11) Every tongue will confess. (Romans 14:11, Isaiah 45:23, Philippians 2:11) God is love. Love never fails. Faith biblechristian universalismforgivenessjesus
