Speeding Up Windows XP Writer #1, 2011-02-12 I’m running a computer that I purchased around 2002. It has Windows XP with only 1 gig of RAM. It has been running slow, particularly when switching windows or recovering from a long period of “rest”. After deciding to play with the settings, I’m blown away with the improvement simply by making a few changes. Here’s what helps: Right-click “My Computer” and choose “Properties”. This brings up the System Properties window. From that, select the “Advanced” tab. Next, under the “Performance” section, click “Settings”. The result will be a window called “Performance Options”. Make the selected options look like this and things should improve! Please comment if this helped. Enjoy! Technology performancewindows xp
