VPNs don’t make you anonymous. VPNs only shift the exposure from your ISP (internet service provider) to the VPN provider so you need to know that you can trust the VPN provider.
If you’re buying one that was advertised on a youtube video it’s prob crap. Don’t take privacy advice from a politics youtuber.
Just get Mullvad or maybe Proton VPN.
