Self Referential Politicians

Writer #1, 2024-07-032024-07-03

All the politicians do now is self-referential, referring to their lawmaking body. Their entire platform is about themselves. It’s about getting their political opponents and making the people (citizens) afraid of their political opponents. There’s not much talk about any actual issues the country faces.

  • The grocery prices rising 2x-3x in the past couple years? Nah.
  • The overpriced gas that chips away at everyone’s bank account every single day? Nah.
  • Anything with the economy? Nah.
  • The invasion on the southern border? Nah.
  • The “president” with 5th stage dementia? Nah.
  • Themselves? HECK YEAH!

They are narcissists. It’s all about themselves. They think that’s all we care about.

As a Trump supporter, I am not hung up on the personality of Trump. I’m hung up on the values that he is standing up for. Mostly. He has said things that have pissed me off, but 90+% of the time he is exactly right, in my opinion. If he turned into a child groper or had some repulsive behavior that wasn’t just a democrat lie and talking point, I would turn on him in a heartbeat. But that’s the point: all of their rhetoric is just the government self-referencing to talk about themselves and to scare everyone out of voting for their political rival.

To that end, they lie, and lie, and lie. They get caught over and over but there is no penalty. The news media covers for them and the “value” they obtain from their lie has been realized long before the truth is admitted by the news media. They are forced to admit that “Russia Russia Russia” has been a lie, but that’s fine. It served them well for 4+ years and the outrage over the lie is basically non-existent. They are 50 lies down the road already. They keep everyone busy fighting over mistruths and exaggerations while they inflame their NPC base with total BS to keep them raging on their behalf. I’d bet most of them have no idea what the politicians are actually doing. I’d bet they just think that politicians are only there to trash talk Trump and republicans, and to scream about racism, which was at an all-time low until they stoked those flames.

They, themselves, are their favorite topic. That’s all they talk about and the dumb sheep play right into their hand.

This was on gab and says a similar point:
