How to reduce the back-and-forth distance when switching between keyboard and mouse:

Of course, this is not for everybody, but I do find it to be an easier and shorter motion having the mouse between my wrists and more within my reach.

Laptops use this layout, although they probably use this layout on laptops to save space. But if you think about it, saving space means that you don’t have to move as far.

For short-term use, nobody cares. If you spend eight hours per day on a computer, you probably do care.
